It’s been a while since I posted but I found this article on the analytics of faceoffs.

I hadn’t really considered the impact of wingers recovering the puck off a lost draw. It definitely gave me something to think about.

I went 1-for-2 in the conference finals which brings me to a 9-for-14 record overall.

Now for the finals:

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Chicago in 6

Okay, 3-for-4 in the 2nd round (8-for-12 overall).  Now onto the 3rd round:

New York Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning – New York in 5

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Anaheim Ducks – Chicago in 6

After going 5-for-8 in the 1st round, here are the 2nd round predictions:

Eastern Conference

Montreal Canadiens vs. Tampa Bay Lightning – Montreal in 6

New York Ranges vs. Washington Capitals – New York in 6

Western Conference

Anaheim Ducks vs. Calgary Flames – Anaheim in 5

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Minnesota Wild – Chicago in 7

My yearly tradition of predicting the NHL playoff results continues.  Despite my intentions from last season, I didn’t follow the NHL at all this season, so I’m just going to make my predictions for each round without any detailed explanations on why I picked a particular team.

Western Conference

Anaheim Ducks vs. Winnipeg Jets – Anaheim in 5

St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild – Minnesota in 6

Nashville Predators vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Chicago in 6
